MEET INFORMATION
Good afternoon team! Our first dual meet is tomorrow at Windrose. It should be an exciting and close meet. Windrose beat the Cudas by 7 points last year to win Divisionals.
Gary placed some information about the meet on the home page of the Cuda website. Please read the information he posted.
Further Information:
Check-In: Begins at 6:45am at the Windrose pool. You must be checked in by 7:15 am to be placed on a relay. Swimmers will be scratched from relays if not checked in by 7:15 am.
Warm-Ups: 7:45-8:15 am
Meet Start: 8:30 am
Meet End: 2:00-2:30 pm (*approximate times indicated)
IronMan Texas: IronMan Texas is this Saturday. The bike route is planned to come through our area. The posted time for our area for bike riders is from 9 am to 4 pm. The IronMan bike route shouldn’t affect getting to the meet by 7:15 am. However, I would advise that everyone plan on leaving 15 minutes earlier than anticipated to make sure you arrive on time
IronMan Bike Route Map:
Attached is the most current bike course map from the IronMan Texas website. The website to check for any changes between now and the 14th is:

Tent Parents:
- Its great being a tent parent because you can sit in a tent provided by the Cudas and socialize with other families with kids the same age as yours.
- A tent parent’s main job is to be an organizer and facilitator. Round up kids within the tent (not outside the tent) and assist the age group getting over to ready bench.
- Easy way to earn volunteer points. You’re going to be at the meet already under a tent. Why not earn points?
- The Cudas are still looking for tent parents in certain age groups. Please contact tent parent committee head Allison Ewing at [email protected] or volunteer coordinator Angela Collins at [email protected] if you would like to volunteer. We have openings in the 7-8 Boys tent and 7-8 girls tent.
***Please note that a swimmer and their parents (not the tent parent) are ultimately responsible for a swimmer getting to the ready bench. Not the tent parent. If a swimmer misses a race, it’s the swimmers and their parent’s responsibility. A tent parent is a facilitator and will only facilitate kids that are in the tent.
Liability Issues: Swimmers and children are not to be left unattended at a swim meet without a parent or guardian on site. For liability issues, we can’t have swimmers and children dropped off at the pool and swim meet without a parent or guardian present. If you are unable to attend the meet with your swimmer, you must appoint a guardian to be responsible for the children. A tent parent is not a guardian. If a parent or guardian is not present, we will call and ask for the child to be picked up.
Let’s have some fun this weekend! Tell the kids to have fun, swim hard, do their best, and show great sportsmanship.
Go Cudas!!!
