6 & Under Stars
The 6 & Under Stars program gives every new Cuda the opportunity to swim across the pool at the end of practice without fins or assistance. Achieving it earns a star! After the first 2 weeks of practice, star swimmers will receive a reward and be eligible to swim in the full Cudas season.
For those who have not made it across during the 2-week program, we will have a parent conference to recommend swim lessons for this season. Our priority is the safety of all swimmers, so the Cudas organization maintains the requirement of swimming across the pool unassisted. We look forward to seeing all these little ones next season!
Big Fish + Little Fish
Every season, we pair new Cudas with veteran Cudas to serve as mentors through the season. Big Fish cheer on their Little Fish, help them at ready bench, and teach them the ropes of swim team while creating important relationships across ages.
Junior Coaches
Junior Coaches play a crucial role on the Cudas team. They help out all summer with younger Cudas, specifically by being in the water with them at practice, shepherding them at ready bench during swim meets, and generally keeping a responsible eye out for younger Cudas at events. Many Junior Coaches go on to become full coaches after they age out of summer swim.
- 12+ years old
- Available for at least 2 hours per week outside of your scheduled practice time, including at least 2 days per week at 6+under and 7–8 practice times through Divisionals
- Available for swim meets, pep rallies, and other Cuda events
- Attendance at a Junior Coach training session
The top 25 candidates will be selected for the Junior Coach program.
Cuda Scholarships for Graduating Seniors
The Cudas Board of Directors is enormously proud of our oldest swimmers, especially those who have developed over the years through this swim team. We are honored every year to award scholarships to eligible and deserving senior swimmers.
- 2+ years as a Northampton Cuda
- Attendance at three season meets
- Attendance at Divisionals
