6 & Under Star Program
The 6 & under Star Program will begin Monday, April 22nd. Near the end of every work out the coaches will give each swimmer an opportunity to swim across the pool without fins or assistance to earn a star next to their name. At the end of 2 weeks, the swimmers that have a star(s) will receive a reward and a chance to continue swimming with the Cudas Swim Team. We will have a conference with the parents of those that have not yet made it across the pool without assistance and due to safety reasons, we will recommend swim lessons for this season. Our first priority is safety of all swimmers hence our team requirement that swimmers be at least 4 years old and be able to swim across the pool safely.
Big Fish/Little Fish
This is a program gives New Cudas / Young Cudas (“Little Fish”) the opportunity to be paired up with a veteran Cuda (“Big Fish”) for the season. The Big Fish serve as mentors and cheer their Little Fish on during the summer. It is a way for the Little Fish to learn about the team, how swim meets are run, and also make some new friends.
Big Fish/Little Fish applications are available below (when logged in). Any new Cuda age 10 & Under and all Cudas 8 & under are eligible to apply to be a Little Fish. Any returning Cuda age 10 & up is encouraged to apply to be a Big Fish.
To be considered, you must fill out an application, be at least 12 years old, and be available for a minimum of 2 hours a week to help at practices. These 2 hours per week do not include your scheduled practice time. Applications are due Sunday, April 7. The top 25 candidates will be selected and announced prior to the start of the season and must attend the Junior Coach Training on Tuesday April 16 or Wednesday April 17 at 4:45pm.
Cuda Scholarships for Graduating Seniors
Graduating Cuda swimmers that have swam for the Cudas the previous 2 years plus swim 3 meets plus divisionals are eligible. An application will be available towards the end of the season for eligible swimmers to complete and turn in by June 14th.
