2016 All Star Invitational Meet
LOCATION: Klein High School. 16715 Stuebner Airline, Spring, TX 77379
Klein is an 8 lane short course 25 Yard pool.
TIME AND DATE:
Saturday June 25, 2016: Arrive by 7:00 AM, Warm ups at 7:20-7:40 AM in lanes 1,2,9,10 meet starts at 9:00 AM
FINALIST Warmup: Arrive by 4:30 PM, Open Warm ups from 4:45-5:30 PM
Sunday June 26, 2016: Arrive by 8:00 AM, Warm ups at 8:20-8:40 AM in lanes 7,8,11 meet starts at 9:00 AM
FINALIST Warmup: Arrive by 4:30 PM, Open Warm ups from 4:45-5:30 PM
This meet is in PRELIM/FINALS MEET FORMAT!
**Prelims will be swum in the morning sessions for individual events, and the top 8 swimmers at prelims in each single age group will return at night to compete in Finals (No more than 2 single age groups in each event).
**Scratches for Finals – As soon as the results for an event are finalized during prelims, the 8 finalists plus 2 alternates will be posted and also announced. Swimmers will have 30 minutes after the announcement is made to scratch from finals at the scratch table near the entrance to the pool if they do not intend to return to swim in finals that evening. Once the scratches are tabulated and finalized, the final list will be posted that shows the top 8 finalists who will swim in finals, plus 2 alternates. Alternates will be put in the event if any of the top 8 finalists listed on final list don’t show up at finals.
**All individual awards are based on a swimmer’s place at finals.
**Each finalist’s name will be announced at finals before each race!
**No relays swim at finals. All relays swim as timed finals in the prelim session and awards will be given based on those results.
Meet Time Line: Meet time line is attached to this email. Please remember that it is only an estimated time line.
***Timers: Our team is responsible to provide timers for this meet. Cudas have been assigned 2 timing chairs for the morning session on Saturday and 1 for the morning session on Sunday. These timing spots do not count toward your volunteer credits needed as a member of the Cudas. Team Set-up: Indoor Air-Conditioned Set-up is in the Klein HS Cafeteria area that is connected to the athletic building, as well as some additional space in large hallways within the athletic building on the 1st & 2nd floors! Allowed set-up areas will be marked. Set-up is available on 1st come, 1st serve basis. No set-up allowed until 1st day of the meet (Sat). There should be plenty of room for everyone, but please be courteous of others looking for space and don’t spread out any more than necessary. Please cooperate with meet personnel if asked to consolidate if you are taking up more than your share. NO ITEMS MAY BE LEFT INSIDE SCHOOL BUILDING OVERNIGHT.
Items to bring: chairs, Cuda stuff, books, games, snacks (such as fruit, PB&J, clif bars, smoothies, veggies, trail mix), water, gatorade, sweats (the commons can be cold for wet swimmers), extra towels, blankets, extra goggles and swim caps
Ready Bench: Since there are no tent parents at this meet, each swimmer (with their parent’s help for the younger age groups) is responsible to be at the ready bench area when their event is called. Please know your event numbers (they are listed in the meet time line) and listen for when your event is called. For the relays on Saturday, one parent will be allowed in the ready bench area to accompany the relay groups and keep them together and in the correct order.
RELAYS: There are 12 relays entered this weekend. Please see the attached pdf (2016 AS Relay) to check if your child has been placed on a relay. Please stay and swim the relay assigned to your child. Relays were compiled by top times and availability. All swimmers within each age group are alternates if needed. Relays are subject to change at the meet if needed.
Payment Reminder: If you have not paid for this meet please do so this week. The amount is $5.00 per individual event payable in cash or check to the Northampton Cudas, if sending cash please put it in an envelope with your swimmers name. The team pays for relays.
