Meet entries: Coach Laura will review the meet entries for Saturday May 27. She might adjust your swimmer’s events to create the best scoring line up for the team.
Relay Information: Relays are being finalized for the meet this Saturday. We can only enter 3 relay teams (12 swimmers) male and female in each age group. Relays are picked by time only and if the swimmer can legally do the stroke. At time trials every swimmer got a time in every stroke. However, that doesn’t mean they swam the stroke legally. We are working on getting all Cudas legal in all 4 strokes. Please understand that we need to pick the best choices for the relays so we can go for the win and have some fun. The relays will possibly change every meet as every swimmer improves meet to meet. We have a large team and I do my best to accommodate everyone, make it fun, recognize and guide every swimmer, and play by the rules.
If you are planning to show up to the meet late or need to leave early at any future meets, please let me know for relay purposes by Tuesday night. If you are on relay teams A, B, or C in each age group you are expected to be at the meet and stay throughout. Thank you for your cooperation.
SPRINT SIZZLER Invitational !!
Don't forget to declare for SPRINT SIZZLER by Thursday May 25! The last chance to qualify is Saturday May 27.
If your swimmers has already qualified for the Sprint Sizzler Invitational Meet (SS). This meet is held on Sunday, June 4th and Monday, June 5th at Klein Oak High School Natatorium.
The Cudas are one of the hosts of SS and we encourage all Cudas who qualify to compete and represent our team, but your swimmers are not required to swim in SS. Each family who has swimmers participating will be required to volunteer in some capacity during the meet. This volunteering does not count toward your required 8 credits as a participant of the Cudas – this is an additional commitment. The areas needed for volunteers will be: Ready Bench, Awards, Safety, Setup/Tear down, Heat Sheets sales, Officials, Coach’s table, Runners, Hospitality and Concessions.
Whether you do or do not intend to have your child compete in this meet, please go to SwimTeam.us by Thursday May 25th and RSVP with “YES” or “NO” on the Sprint Sizzler event. Swimmers aged 13 and older may compete in all events. Swimmers aged 12 and under may compete in all qualified events. If your child is swimming, please go to SwimTeam.us site and select the events they want to swim by clicking on the swimmer icon on the Sprint Sizzler event. You will be able to tell if they have qualified because the event time will be in blue, if they are not qualified it will be in red.
If they have qualified in at least two events, they may “bonus” any other event for which they have a time. Please let us know which events they want to “bonus” so that we can make sure they are entered in them. The 50 Free and 100 IM for ages 10 & Under and the 100 Free and 100 IM for ages 11-12 are exempt from the “bonus” rule. Swimmers must achieve the time standard in order to enter those events.
The fee for the SS invitational meet is $5.00 per individual event and is payable in cash or check to the Northampton Cudas. If you do not hand it to me personally, please put it in an envelope with your child’s name on it and give it to one of the coaches.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kristi Davis. [email protected]
