The Cudas will do last minute fine tuning this week as we head to Divisionals and swim against the Woodlands Hurricanes, Oak Ridge Otters, Windrose Stingrays, and Imperial Oaks! We will need everyone to put 100% effort into this meet, every swimmer counts! Thank you to all of our hard working volunteers, Junior Coaches, and Assistant Coaches that help make this team GREAT!

Divisionals are 4 days away and the coaches are making last minute adjustments to the lineup. On Saturday please make sure to check your events because there might be changes to your entries. We are planning to submit the best scoring lineup and can only enter an 'A' relay per age group/event.  Make sure your children are limiting their exposure to the sun, getting sleep, and trying not to waste too much energy! We will need all Cudas in top form Saturday June 17th as we take on all the teams in our division.

    DIVISIONALS- Saturday June 17, 2017

    WHERE: Klein Oak High School

ARRIVE by 6:30 a.m. We have warm-up from 7:00-7:25 a.m.  This is the ONLY time we can warm-up. Please arrive ON TIME!

ALL ages swim beginning in the morning.

    ·  The meet will begin at 8:30 am on Saturday the 17th at Klein Oak High School. Although I don't have a timeline yet, typically, the meet lasts until 3:30-4:30pm.

    ·  The Cudas have first warm-up from 7:00-7:25am. Please arrive at Klein Oak and sign in between 6:30-6:45 am so swimmers can be in the pool at 7:00 am for warm-up. The warm-up time is very short due to all the teams requiring warm-up time in the pool.  Please be on time or you will not have an opportunity to warm-up.

    ·  Set-up for the Cudas will be in the Klein Oak Commons area.  We will have our section taped off marked.

A few notes about the Divisional meet:

    1. The deadline to register is Monday June 12th at midnight.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  We are meeting all the division teams on Wednesday to exchange rosters and entries.   No swimmer can be added to the meet after the data exchange on Wednesday. There are NO exceptions to this rule for the divisional meet.  If you have not submitted your entries, your swimmer will NOT be able to swim at the Divisional meet.
    2. To qualify for the Divisional meet, a swimmer must have an OFFICIAL Time. This is a NWAL league rule. Swimmers must have swum in a dual meet or invitational meet to have official times. Only swimmers with official times may swim in the Divisional meet (the time trials swims are NOT official times therefore do NOT count as official times).

.3. Time trial times are not accepted at the Divisional meet.  Only official times from events at a dual meet or invitational are accepted.  Swimmer may only enter an event that they have an official time.  For example: If the swimmer only swam in one meet this year and they swam the 25 free and the 25 backstroke, these are the only events the swimmer is eligible to sign up for at Divisionals. If you do not have an official time in an event, you may not swim it at divisionals, including on the relays.

    4. If your swimmer didn’t swim an event legally at a dual meet or invitational, your swimmer will be ineligible to swim that event at divisionals. The time will show as a NT, thus not eligible to swim that event at divisionals. Again, time trial times are not accepted.

    5. Each team is only allowed to enter one relay.  The coaches will use their best judgement to form the Cuda relays.  Only four swimmers in each age group will be placed on a relay.

    6. Your swimmer must be at the ready bench in a timely manner or he/she will be scratched from the event.  If a swimmer is not in their assigned place on the ready bench outside the pool when the next row of swimmers are instructed to move inside the pool to the ready bench seats, he/she will be scratched from the event.  If your swimmer gets scratched, the coaches will not be able to get them into the meet.  Parents need to make sure their child gets to the ready bench on time.  The coaches will be on deck pool side and not in the commons where set-up is located.

    1. Note the following times:
      1. Arrival Time: 6:30 am
      2. Check-in deadline: 6:45 a.m.
      3. Warm-ups: 7:00 am through 7:25 am.

***Your arrival time and check-in time are very important.  The team and coaches need to enter final relays to the officials by 7:45am…again, no exceptions.

    • We need everyone to attend this meet!!!  All hands on deck!  This is what we have been working for all season.
    • The Cudas will have a designated area in the commons for set-up
      • Parents are ultimately responsible for getting their swimmer to the ready bench
      • We recommend the swimmers do not leave the meet so they don’t miss their events for any reason
    • The ready bench area is located in the small gym next to the pool
    • Plan on the meet lasting until 3:30-4:30 pm?

This will be a very close meet so everyone needs to be well rested and well nourished - please eat healthy this week and stay out of the sun as much as possible!  Lots of complex (good) carbohydrates, which include fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes.  Limit or eliminate junk foods!  Be ready for a FUN and FAST Day...GO CUDAS GO!!!
