A Few Answers and Reminders
Team,
It's been a busy two days since our meet was cut short on Saturday and I'm happy to share that I can address several questions about that and remind you of a few things while I'm at it.
1) The meet from Saturday against the Otters is still "open" in the system that we use to record it. When we finish the meet tomorrow morning, we will verify, close, export, etc. At that point, the times and the record of your swimmers' actual attendance will be set and those of you waiting on that will be able to declare for the divisional meet.
2) The divisional meet will be open for declaration until Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
3) So remember, tomorrow morning we will complete events 53-70 (the remainder of the individual events from Saturday's meet) beginning at 8:00 a.m. So come warm-up between 7:00 and 8:00. We understand it's not possible for some of you. But if you can make it, it will help your swimmers get another chance at dropping time and of qualifying for post-season invitationals which are a blast.
4) Because of the make-up meet, there will be no morning practice.
5) If you have been swimming with the Cudas for 10 years, please submit your swimmer's name, a photo from their first year, and a current photo to [email protected] by Sunday June 14th.
6) Regarding the graduate scholarships, we are reevaluating how we will award them to make it more consistently fair. A new application will be posted very soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
7) It's Spirit Week! See the attached schedule of spirit days to make sure you don't miss one!
8) Our last Pep Rally is this Friday and it's a big one. The Pasta Party is an annual hit. Bring your favorite pasta and/or side and be prepared to feast.
9) I want to personally plug the next two weeks of meets. By this time in the season, our summer swimmers are finally getting into decent shape. That means they have the best chances at not only getting their best times, but also qualifying for invitational meets and racing in fast, indoor pools which make their times even faster. It is a real boost to your swimmers' confidence and is a great way to close out summer swim. So please make every effort to get your swimmers to these meets. They are some of the best for them.
Go Cudas!
Stephen
